Mangosteen Research For Diabetics

This is some research by Dr Kay Davies, who has a PhD in Physiology

ONE WAY MANGOSTEEN REDUCES BLOOD SUGAR FOR DIABETICS

SUMMARY:

Mangosteen has been shown, in a recent laboratory study, to slow the breakdown of starch (carbohydrates) to sugar in the same way as the Diabetic drug, Acarbose (Brand names – Prandase or Precose). Slower breakdown of starch results in less sugar (glucose) in the blood immediately following eating. Additional studies have shown that Mangosteen is retained in the blood for up to 6 hours – maximum effectiveness occurs 1-3 hours after taking Mangosteen.

Thus, Diabetics are recommended to take their Mangosteen 1-3 hours prior to their largest meal, or with this meal. Mangosteen, taken at the correct time will also help non-Diabetics by reducing the extra strain excess sugar puts on the Pancreas. This extra strain on the Pancreas, in time, can lead to Diabetes.

DETAILS:

The Diabetic medication, Acarbose*, works by inhibiting the enzyme (Amylase) that is primarily responsible for the breakdown of Starch to Sugar ( Glucose).

A study** has shown that the one of the Xanthones in the Mangosteen Pericarp works in exactly the same way in our body as Acarbose.

Starch consists of unbranched glucose molecules (Amylose) and branched glucose molecules (Amylopectin). One of the Xanthones in the pericarp of Mangosteen inhibits the enzyme, Amylase. Amylase is inhibited with both Acarbose and Mangosteen, so that the amount of Starch broken down to Sugar from eating is greatly reduced. This means that the sugar level of Diabetics is lessened immediately after a meal. The starch in what was consumed is broken down more slowly over time, after Acarbose and Mangosteen disappear from a person’s blood.

Mangosteen works exactly the same way as Acarbose without any drug side effects.
For Diabetics, the best time to take Mangosteen is to take it within 1-3 hrs prior to eating, or with a meal. If a Diabetic is only taking one dose of Mangosteen, they should take their Mangosteen prior to their largest meal.

Non-Diabetics also benefit from taking Mangosteen. This is because diets which contain excess sugar put an unnecessary strain on the Beta cells in the pancreas. Over time, this excess strain has been shown to result in insulin resistance, leading to full blown Diabetes. Taking Mangosteen on a regular basis reduces the amount of sugar in the blood following meals high in carbohydrates and sugars, and thus prevents this strain on the pancreas.

Additional studies have shown that Mangosteen is retained in the blood stream for at least 6 hours – maximum effectiveness occurs in the first 1-3 hours.CONCLUSION

Mangosteen and the drug, Acarbose, both result in the slower breakdown of starch to sugar. This leads to everyone having less sugar in their blood following a meal. Less sugar to deal with means it is easier for Diabetics (and non-Diabetics) to move the sugar present in the blood into their cells – less insulin needs to be released and the sugar level remains closer to normal. Another benefit of taking Mangosteen versus Acarbose is there are no drug side-effects.

Video Conference Call With Ambassador Leader Brad Alkazin

Dear Vemma Member,

I wanted to personally introduce myself and let you know about the future expansion of Vemma, especially now with the launch of Verve !

My name is Brad Alkazin, I'm 22 years old and I live in southern California.

Not only have I been blessed physically as an athlete by being on Vemma for the last 3 years, seeing great results in my health and body day in and day out, but have seen tremendous results for my family, friends, and people I've introduced to the product.

Ranging from blood pressure dropping, cholesterol dropping, migraine headaches relieved, IBS, chronic fatigue and so much more. Also, I put weekly time and effort into the concept of sharing the product (the business) and have been able to build an income up to 8 thousand (US) per week.

Now with the launch of Verve, especially in Europe building the business is even that much easier. People already drink energy drinks, therefore they're loving the taste, health benefits, and more energy Verve is giving them!

Also, they can get paid to drink energy drinks now once they share it with family and friends, ect. Being that the energy drink market does 5 billion per year in sales, that's BILLION, I hope you realize how much potential lies in Verve and how we all can take action and benefit by being at the right place at the right time.

I extend my support to each and every one of you, now with some recent changes in Team Europe, I am able to be more of a leader and assist you in building your business.

I remember at a young age what took me to the top:

Staying plugged in and doing something positive everyday to build my business. Specifically being on the calls, at the meetings, sticking to how the leaders told me to build the business.

Having the attitude and desire for change in my life, and making the decision on how big I wanted my business to be and never quiting !

I encourage you to take advantage of a new video conference I will be hosting on Mondays at 9:15pm Holland time, where you can bring people onto that your sharing the product or opportunity with, and also get great training and tips to build your business even better.

The video conference will be held at url:
http://brad14.vemmasuite.com/meeting/brad

I also will begin to reach out to you and your team and assist in conference calls and meetings and even will be coming back to your area on a more regular basis, beginning in September to do meetings and help build your business.

I look forward to not only meeting you but working with you to build your business and take you to the top!

Have a great day, begin to take massive action, and see you on the video conference!

Sincerely,
Brad Alkazin

Increase Your Value

What can you do today that can double your income...attract others to you...and increase your effectiveness?

Increase your value!

A first place to start is, what do you know?
Whatever your area of expertise is, learn all you can about your professional. Become extremely familiar with the latest techniques and technology used by industry experts.

You can get up to speed with your industry by attending local seminars hosted by industry experts or read books and publications for your industry. Everything you may learn may not be of value to you, but take a nugget here and there of what you do find worthy of having and implement it. This is the foundation for increasing your value.

The second place is, who do you know?
Seek out the experts in your industry. Find out what these experts are doing. How have they improved? What's their secret? Perhaps what they will share with you can be another nugget to add to your collection. Always been out on the prowl looking for someone who can help you. This is the building blocks for increasing your value.

The final place is, when do you know enough is enough?
fact of the matter is, you will never know enough. There is so much out there that there isn't enough time in the world to know everything. Especially, because in some cases you may not even consider some of the techniques as being viable for you. So, that is why you need to be on a path of continuous learning. This is the icing on the cake for increasing your value, never stop learning.

When you increase your value, you become an expert. An expert that becomes sought out. An expert that is trustworthy. An expert that is effective. And, an expert that is a leader. These values put you in charge. In charge of your life and career. You will find yourself achieving what you once thought was impossible, now something totally doable.

You choose what to do, when to do it, and how to do it.

In return you increase your income, effectiveness, and knowledge.
Dedicated to your success,
Jerome Ratliff

How Can I Motivate Others To Become More Successful?

I get asked dozens of times every month by ambitious network marketers (even in my own organization) from all over the world, "How can I motivate others to become more successful?"

Now as great as it might sound to be able to motivate someone else, the answer is, you cannot successfully motivate others.

You may inspire them, but motivation for them must come from within.Anything less than internal motivation is like spray paint on rust. Eventually, when the motivation from an event or pep talk wears off, its a person's commitment that is left over.

You cannot motivate others to want to succeed any more than you can push a rope uphill.

Truth is, a person must first want it for themselves before they will ever become successful.

If you want it more for someone else than they want it for themself, this can become very unhealthy. (for both parties)

The key then to having motivated people on your team, is to be motivated yourself.

Being self motivated is the only surefire way to reach long term success.

Being self motivated means that you don't require someone else to remind you of the opportunity you have in front of you.

Being self motivated means that you wake up every morning raring and ready to take on the day, create new relationships, market your business and show people how to get started.

Being self motivated means that you attend local events, regionals, conventions or trainings without having to be reminded that these events are taking place.

Being self motivated means that you invest in your education by reading good books, listening to audios and modeling successful people.

Being self motivated means that you take all out massive action, regardless of who believes in you, supports you or joins you.

Being self motivated means that you are inspired by your future and what is possible.Being self motivated means being self determined.

Being self motivated requires that you are self functional. This means that you must learn the system, how to do business and produce.

So what do you do if your prospects are unmotivated to get started and your team unmotivated to take action?

FIRE THEM and find new people.

New people who are hungry for success, will stop at nothing to get it and are determined to develop themselves into a leader that others are looking to follow.

Use your Magnetic Sponsoring System, Building on a Budget & MLM Traffic Formula to develop a strategy that attracts other network marketers who have already bought into the business model and are just looking for the right leader, the right system and the right support to reach the top!

Until next time,

Aaron

Leveraging Marketing Tools To Grow A Thriving MLM Business

by Frank Tocco

So many people looking to start a MLM or home-based-business think they have to become a door-to-door sales person, telemarketer, or an Amway rep giving endless presentations to make any money.

That’s not the reality at all. These things do work but there’s an easier way.

Here the rule is to build a successful MLM business: We sort and market. We do not sell!

Selling only turns people off and all they want is to get as far away from you as possible.

There are selling superstars that jump in with two feet and sponsor people like crazy. They come out of the gate fast and sponsor 20-40 a month and even though if feels like you won the lottery, within three months all those new reps will start quitting faster then they can sponsor new reps.

Why?

Because people can not be duplicated and the new reps sponsored by a superstar recruiter can’t do what the superstar did and begin to believe they are not cut out for owning a MLM business. The superstar makes it look so easy that they begin to feel frustrated or not qualified to build a business of this sort.

People will never be duplicable but systems are. This is why having a successful, proven system that is duplicable is very important but it is only part of the equation. The other part of the equation is you.

You do have an important part to play in building your MLM business because people are buying you just as much as your opportunity. Do you offer something of value to this person that will help them gain power by associating with you?

True leaders have invested time and money learning the skills needed to succeed in their business of choice regardless of what business it is and can transfer their know-how to someone in a way that allows them to get successful results faster then they did. That’s valuable to someone wanting to learn that skill.

But selling is not the same as marketing so how can you tell when you’re selling?

As soon as you start explaining anything about your business, you are selling. If you start to talk about the price, the ingredients, the compensation plan, the background of the founder or the product, you are selling. Anything more than the name of the company or product or one testimonial is selling. Do Not Do That!

Think of yourself as a professional promoter who’s only job is to hand out information about an incredible business opportunity or product and to get out marketing tools to as many people as possible because these marketing tools do the work for you. The tools sell the business or product and you only sell yourself as a leader.

If you put a city kid on a tractor up against an old farmer with hand tools, who do you think would plow the most land and harvest a bigger crop? The city kid because he has the use of better tools that give him an advantage over the experienced farmer. Marketing tools do the same thing.

Some people complain that they have to spend money on tools but these people do not get it at all. Education costs money and tools cost money and the right tools put together with the right education and a strong reason why you want to be in business in the first place can make you a fortune.

Think of it like this. No matter what tool your business uses; brochures, CD’s, DVD or postcards, it makes you money and will do the selling for you. Most people do not like selling but they still continue to sell, sell, sell.

Let the marketing tools do the sorting and selling for you.For example, a DVD presentation that cost let’s say ten dollars per DVD is worth hundreds or thousands more than ten dollars.

Why?

First, it will do a sales presentation much better then most people can and it will do it the same way every time, anytime and anywhere. Secondly, imagine that your DVD is an employee that works for your company. If it shows a hundred presentations that are 20 minutes long how much is your employee getting paid? Ten dollars divided by 100 times equals ten cents per twenty minutes or 30 cents an hour.

What if you had 100 DVD’s doing that everyday? And it made a sale of say 10 dollars one third of the time. That’s 330 dollars a day or ten thousand dollars a month. 100 DVD’s that cost you 1000 dollars would be a bargain. Or you could save your money and give 100 presentations daily yourself. Do you see why having the tools are worth the investment?

Don’t waste time with people that do not get it. Forget about the neighbor or friend that did not see what you are so excited about. You are not sorting to get their approval, you are sorting to find people who get it and can see how using these tools they can grow a successful MLM business. People that will go out and grow their business and find others to do the same.

All you are doing is giving each new person you expose your MLM business opportunity to the chance to say yes or no. The more you do this, the more successful you will be. Once they start, give them the tools to get the job done correctly instead of trying to turn them into sales superstars or product experts.

How To Guarantee Duplication In Your Business

Is network marketing really a business of duplication?

As you recruit people into your business they go out and recruit people into their business and so on and so on. You get an override on all of it and a year down the road you walk away into the sunset rich never to work again.

That's the dream right?

I know that's how I got hooked in.

In the real world does it actually play out like this?

Well, the truth is YES and NO.

Let me explain . . .Yes network marketing is a business built on duplication, but no you are not duplicable.

Systems are duplicable, but people are not.

Let me say that again.

Systems are duplicable, but people are not.

That's the irony of network marketing.

Most people try to duplicate what is not duplicable. They try to be just like there sponsor or their idle in the industry and invariably fail. They place too much importance on being just like someone else or doing it just like someone else did it when what can and should be duplicated is the system.

The system never fails and that's where the focus should be.

When I do training I stay as far away from telling people to do things exactly as I do them as possible.

Instead I tell them the conversion statistics for the marketing system being used, the basic marketing process, basic marketing principles, and then I ask "What do you like most?"

When they answer I tell them what I know from my experience and how I would address the situation with the proper expectations in mind, but I continually hammer home the core message that the system never fails, it's the system that duplicates.

It must be made clear that even with the highest converting system on the planet not everyone is going to duplicate your success no matter how hard you try.

Why?

Because people are people.

Some will some won't and there isn't anything you can do about it.

A big mistake I see people make in this business is getting depressed when their downline doesn't duplicate their actions to the level they expect.

Let me free you of those heavy emotions right now!

It's not YOUR fault! You did your job. You found them. It'son their shoulders to go out get the job done in their business not yours.

I'm not saying you leave them in the cold. All I'm saying is you can't build anyone business for them.

Here's a hint to point you in the right direction . . .
Distributors that earn a profit in their business within the first 90 days stay as distributors twice as long as those who do not.

Simply, when people get paid they are happy.

If you focus first on getting yourself paid and then your distributors paid you stand a much greater chance of having duplication work in your favor.

Robert Kiyosaki Explains Why MLM Or Network Marketing Is A Great Way To Learn The Skills Of Building A Business

Best-selling author Robert Kiyosaki, explains in simple terms why MLM or Network Marketing is a good option for people to build a huge business with litle money by leveraging their time while developing leadership and people skills.

Knowing your "Why" is the most important thing you need to know to build a successful MLM business. When you know why, you'll figure out how.

Have you ever given someone your Vemma website address and they end up leaving off your user name? Consequently they go to myvemma.com enroll as a member and not end up in your downline.

NOT FUN, BUMMER, THIS STINKS, BUT NOT THE END OF THE WORLD!

Well this has happen to us on more than one occasion.

There is a solution from preventing this from every happening to you.

STEP 1: Register new domain name
What you can do is create your own domain name and have that domain forwarded to your
Vemma domain name.

For example:
Register your domain name like www.YourDomainName.com which is forwarded to http://MyVemma.com/shop4dreams . It is real easy to do. Just click on the Go Daddy link and register a domain name or you can use GDI and build a network business with your domain account too.

STEP 2: Forward domain name
Once you register your domain name go into your Go Daddy account and set up a forwarding rule to your myvemma.com domain name.

STEP 3: Use new domain name
Get
Vemma cards printed with your new domain name and always give out your own domain name that is forwarded to your myvemma.com domain name.

NOTE: Vemma does not allow anyone to use Vemma in a personal domain name other than the myvemma.com domain name. So when you register your domain name DO NOT register a name that has Vemma in it. If you do Vemma will make you change it.

The Plain And Simple Truth About Objections

"If you don't learn to eliminate or overcome objections, you will never make any real money in network marketing."
-- Hilton Johnson

What is the first thought that pops into your head when you hear any of the following:

"Is this network marketing?"

"Do I have to do any selling?"

"Is it going to cost me anything?"

"How much money have YOU made so far?"

Do you cringe when prospects say these kinds of things to you? Do you wish you had something magical you could say that would overcome these objections?

If so, guess what: YOU'RE the problem, not your prospects.

You see, you're not hearing objections at all. You're hearing questions.
A question is not always an objection. Sometimes we unnecessarily perceive questions as resistance and many times that's simply not true. We need to know the difference between a question and an objection.

Now, are some questions objections? Sure.

How about these for example:

"Is this one of those pyramid scams?"

"If this is so great, why ain't you rich?"

"Why don't you go out and get a real job?"

"Would you like to leave on your own power or shall I throw you out?"

Yes, when you hear these kinds of questions, you're getting objections and a good way to deal with them is to gracefully disqualify those prospects and move on.

But, when a prospect asks a logical question, why not simply respond to the question and not assume that you're getting an objection.

If a prospect asks if it's network marketing, answer with a yes and ask how he or she feels about network marketing.

If they ask if they have to do some selling, tell them they can if they want to.

If they ask you how much money you're making, tell them it's none of their business.

You will be amazed at how powerful you can be when responding to questions and/or objections head on without avoidance, assumptions, and pretensions.

Look at it this way; all questions are good. They either show interest or they are objections that create opportunities. Yes, opportunities.

You'll get to have some fun.

For example, when you get real objections, you can:

Disqualify your prospect. (Disqualifying is fun and you save your valuable time.)

Practice your scripts and dialogues without risk. (Hey, these prospects are no good; you have nothing to lose.)

Test your sales skills by trying to overcome the objection.

Use objections as opportunities to close (Another article).

Improve your sense of humor.
(Your horror stories will be funny later when you tell them to your downline.)

But, the best strategy of all for dealing with objections is to not let them happen at all. That's right, you can avoid objections altogether by learning to present your program with a structured, question-based presentation that is designed to eliminate objections before they come up.

To sample a presentation that can eliminate 100% of the objections you've been getting, you may want to attend a Magnetic Sponsoring on the "Selling By Attraction" training program.

Now, let me ask you something: Do you know the difference between a question and an objection and do you know how to respond to both?

If you do, go ahead and leave a comment at the bottom of this blog by clicking on Comment.
We will compare answers in a future issue of VemmaHealthAndWealth.

How to Develop Momentum

Written by Todd Falcone

Take a look at your business today and create a FRESH start to your business.

NOW is the time to take the appropriate action to finally free yourself and get what you want out of your Network Marketing business.

Procrastination kills…do it now. Get with it…get busy, get going. Don’t wait, hesitate, and don’t stop. Begin now. Action equals results. Results equal money. Money equals freedom, fun and no stress. More money equals more fun. Anyone who tells you different is either lying or broke.

I’m not saying money buys happiness, but I’ve heard the only one’s who say money doesn’t buy happiness tend to be B.R.O.K.E. If you want money and production out of your business in 2002, than follow these guidelines:

1. 90 Day plan of action.
Start now with a brand new plan….90 days of flat out, balls to the wall ACTION. Put away the television, the golf clubs and the Budweiser. Get up earlier, stay up later, and talk to more people every single day.

2. Set BIG Goals.
Write down big goals that you want to accomplish and put specific dates to them. If you have procrastinated in the past, written down goals and forgotten about them…don’t. This time, do it. Stick to your responsibilities. Don’t flake on yourself.

3. Use every product and/or service your company markets.
Become the epitome of “a product of the product”. If you market nutrition and you’re using Flinstone’s vitamins because they’re cheaper, throw Barney away and use YOUR product.

4. Become an expert of your marketing materials and use the best.
Thoroughly review, but don’t spend a lifetime doing it, all of your company’s marketing materials and only use the best of the best.

5. Attend EVERY company regional or national event possible.
Don’t flake or make excuses, go, book the airfare and hotel now. Make the commitment.

6. Listen to and participate in ALL of your company’s calls, and BRING PROSPECTS to them.
Make the commitment not to attend UNLESS you are bringing someone. And, since you are now making the commitment to attend every call, you’ll just have to figure out how to get someone there. Commit to it. Don’t fail yourself.

7. Prospect new people every day.
When you are out, make the commitment to meet someone and present the opportunity. Take advantage of the 60-yard rule. Forget the 3-foot rule, some of you are walking too far away from people so you don’t have to talk to new people.

That’s why I invented the 60-yard rule…anyone within a 60-yard radius is a candidate. Put your prospecting jersey on and makethe 60-yard dash to talk to strangers whenever you can. So what if they say no…at least you tried.

Don’t let your grave stone say….”
Here lies Henry…thought about doing it but never did.”
Wouldn’t you rather it say,
“Here lies Henry, did everything he possibly could, and then some his entire life to impact as many people as he possibly could with a positive message about what it’s like to have financial freedom and abundance in their lives.

8. Communicate with your upline and downline regularly.
Don’t be a disappearing donut. Call your upline, work with yourdownline. Be visible. Communicate and play team. Your upline or downline should never be saying or even thinking…”Hmmm…I wonder what Sally is up to these days.” They should know because you are building STRONG relationships. And, strong relationships revolve around constant communication.

9. Be a top performer in your team or company.
Make it a point to be known as a top recruiter, top customer gatherer, or top dog with whatever it is you are doing. Your team will duplicate what you are doing and attempt to do whatever they can to keep up. Would you rather have them keeping up with a slug or a jaguar?

10. Sign up new people PERSONALLY every month.
Forget management, there’s no money in it. Get into production mode, not overseeing mode. Be the leader…set the example. Sponsor more people than anyone else around you. Talk to more people everyday than you thought was possible last week, last month or last year. Stretch yourself beyond all limitations.

11. Develop leaders every 1 to 2 months.
Get your new people who are building the business to STEP UP. Force them into a leadership role. Get them to host conference calls and to participate in a leadership role somehow, some way, within your organization. Put the pressure on them to take on RESPONSIBILITY now.

12. Be persistent and consistent.
Forget about obstacles or distractions and don’t make excuses. Get over it around it, or under it. Blow it up if you have to. Obstacles are easy to overcome if you WANT to overcome them and are COMMITTED to it. Don’t let anything get in your way.

You have a goal in mind and are committed to seeing it through. Don’t let some ridiculous distraction stop you from getting what you want. And…whatever you do, don’t blame anyone, anything, or any circumstance for your failure or success. It’s not the problem with the comp plan, your sponsor, your product or marketing system. It is up to you. Step up and take responsibility.

The good news is that when you do succeed, you have only one person to blame, and that’s you. And…I’m sure you wouldn’t mind blaming yourself for that $20,000 monthly check!

13. Treat it like a business, not a hobby. Get hot or get out.
Don’t be luke-warm. Don’t be an absentee manager. Show up for work every day and work like you are leaving for a 6-week European vacation tomorrow. It’s amazing what we can all get accomplished when we KNOW we are leaving tomorrow for vacation. Get busy doing Revenue Producing Activities.

If you owned a business that cost you a million to get it, you would make sure that you did everything possible to make a profit for fear of losing your million dollars invested. Treat this business like it cost you a fortune and it will make you a fortune. Treat it like a hobby and it will cost you a fortune.

14. Work with those who deserve it.
Now that you are DEADLY SERIOUS about your enterprise, you can only afford to work with serious, committed people. Forget about the whiners, moaners and complainers. We ALL have them on our team, it comes with the territory. Work only with serious committed individuals who have the same goals in mind you do…massive success.

Here’s a good way of determining who the RIGHT ONES are: Are they calling you for 3-ways? Are they making calls? Are they eager to learn the business? Are they participating in all training and recruiting calls? Or…did they disappear after you sponsored them? Do they procrastinate and say “I haven’t gotten around to reading it yet?”

15. Understand what you are marketing.
Know the importance and significance of whatever product or service it is you are marketing.

16. Celebrate Success.
When new people sign up a new customer or distributor, or reach a higher status level, call them! Congratulate them and let them know you are proud of them for doing such an awesome job. Give recognition to all of your people for the things they accomplish. NEVER EVER ignore the successes of others on your team. Recognize it and celebrate it together.

17. When you reach a newlevel, don’t lay back.
Once you’ve achieved a new level of success in your company, it is time to solidify it, not lay back and have a Budweiser and wipe your brow. Take it to the next level. Celebrate your personally achievement and keep moving forward.

18. Believe in your business and in our industry.
Make sure that you live every day knowing in your heart, mind and soul that you ARE in the right opportunity and in the right industry. Don’t ever doubt it, don’t ever waiver or wonder if you did the right thing. The only time you DON’T do the right thing is when you either don’t get to work or you quit before your time is due.

Network Marketing is a 50+year old industry with thousands of people who have become multi-millionaires working from home. You are part of an incredible industry with unlimited opportunity. There are people right now in YOUR company that are seeing huge successes and huge incomes. You ARE in the right business and you ARE in the right industry. Now all you need to do is GET to WORK. Remember…it is called NetWORK Marketing!

For The Next Generation

The Centers for Disease Control, through its National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, found that the number of overweight children ages 6 to 11 increased from 4 to 13 percent between 1965 and 1999.

Similarly, the number of overweight adolescents ages 12 to 19 increased from 5 to 14 percent. As the statistics rise, health experts worry that a healthy diet is becoming increasingly rare for many children and youths.

Like the baby boomer generation, supplementation is an effective option for children and adolescents, but convincing these age groups to chew a nasty tasting multivitamin or swallow a handful of pills can be tricky.

BK believes that Verve is one of the most effective tools to fill the teenage nutritional gap. "The Vemma formula can reach millions of energy drink consumers who never thought about supplementing before the introduction of Verve," he says. "Judging from the numbers of postive phone calls I'm getting and the great buzz energy drinksare receiving,Verve could be one of the biggest products we've ever seen."

In developing the product, BK considered what effect the popularity of sugary soft drinks and energy drinks may have on the health of the youngest members of the American population.

"Teenage obesity and diabetes have soared over the last five years, and during that same period energy drink sales have absolutely exploded into a more than $5 billion domestic market," BK says. "So I decided that we needed to have a healthy alternative for these kids--something that their parents would be happyto see them drinking and something the kids will embrace as a cool, hip product."

Effective Advertising
Taking an already popular product category--energy drinks--and adding a healthy twist is an intriguing way to incorporate vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants into the diet of a generation that already has a strong affection for energy drinks. Getting that product into the hands of those teenagers, however, is a different challenge entirely.

Today's teenagers are contantly bombarded by information overload. BusinessWeek reports that 15- to 18- olds spend an average of nearly seven hours a day using media entertainment, such as watching television, playing video games and surfing the Internet, exposing them to innumerable advertisements. "Kids filter through what they respond to by how it's delivered," BK says.

A Packaged Fact consumer report points to unique forms of marketing as the key to reaching these audiences. "Attractive and evocative packaging, guerrilla tactics and other alternative marketing practices will be important tools for marketing the nature of energy drinnk brands," according to the report.

"That's exciting news because this tells me we're right on target," BK says. "We have phenominal-looking packaging and unique, hybrid forms for marketing our products. Together, these two elements make it as easy as possible for Vemma members to share Verve with every generation."

The "MySpace Generation," as the pre-teen and teenaged population has been dubbed because of their reliance on Internet socializing, is proof that word-of-mouth advertising is still effective, "This age group is connected through virtual social networks, such as Facebook, MySpace and the like," BK says. "The term networking has never been more powerful than it is in this up-and-coming age group. They are connected like never before on a global basis.

For Vemma and its energy drink, Verve, this means more then just selling a product, but also providing a growing business opportunity for teenagers who previously would've been deemed unlikely business owners. Teens 14 to 17 are allowed to start their own Vemma businesses with notarized parental authorization. This new age bracket opens a door for Vemma and new avenues for teens often limited to minimum-wage jobs and struggling to balance school and work. "A kid talking to his buddies about an energy drink that's good for them and can make them money gets through far more effectively than any television, radio or print ad would; not even a sponsorship with Extreme Games," BK says.

Sharing The Mission Of Health
BK is driven to make a positive difference in the lives of others. Together with the Vemma team, he has created an energy drink that can positively affect the health of consumers--through Verve's healthful ingredients--while providing opportunity for financial gain to members through the revolutionary sales system of the Verve product. They call it "hybrid marketing," a unique blend of retail marketing and network marketing.

"One of the advantages to being a member of our company is that we have a singular formula focus," BK says. "We have more than one product, but we have a single formula. Because of this, there's not a lot of training required. The focus, once you've learned the fundamentals, is how the member chooses to distribute the product." This distribution option, whether through personal sales or vending machines in large arenas, allows members who sell Verve a business advantage that few companies in the industry can offer.

Now, the development of the Verve product and its corresponding mission of wellness, BK is confident that the future for Vemma is limitless. "It's not what we've done or where we've been, but where we really want to go that matters," he says. "Verve is the most exciting product that I have ever held in my hand; it's massively consumable and the clinically studied formula is going to take our mission of promoting health to places we've never gone before."
